CheckPoint 32-bit vs 64-bit

With the release of CheckPoint 1.3, the software is now available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Rather than have both versions in the same installer, we’ve decided to split the two versions into separate installers, so as to reduce offshore download times.

On any modern computer, you should run the 64-bit version if possible. This version will be more able to handle the occasional high memory usage required during the report data generation, especially with multiple vessel databases.

If you’re running the 32-bit version, to change to the 64-bit version

1. Backup your database (this isn’t required, but is good practice).
2. Uninstall the 32-bit version.
3. Install the 64-bit version.

If in doubt, the version type is shown in the CheckPoint About window.

CheckPoint 1.3 Released

This version contains a major update to the sync functionality, allowing for data to be uploaded and downloaded interactively from within the CheckPoint software.

For a number of the project data items, in the case of a data conflict, it is now possible to view the local and server data content.

This version also implements the ability to allow external users to add data into CheckPoint using a web interface

Users who are uploading to a central server should only update to v1.3 when advised to do so.
